65.没有尾巴的狐狸, The Fox Without a Tail (méi yǒu wěi bā de hú lí)

yǒu yī zhī hú lí bèi bǔ liè de jī guān kǎ zhù le wěi bɑ ，

有一只狐狸被捕猎的机关卡住了尾巴，

zhēng zhā shí yī dà jié wěi bā duàn le ， zhǐ liú xià gè wěi bā gēn ér 。

挣扎时一大节尾巴断了，只留下个尾巴根儿。

qǐ xiān ， tā jué dé hěn diū rén ， jìn liàng bù ràng bié de hú lí kàn dào ，

起先，它觉得很丢人，尽量不让别的狐狸看到，

dàn hòu lái tā jué dìng yào yǒng gǎn de miàn duì zì jǐ de bù xìng 。

但后来它决定要勇敢的面对自己的不幸。

yú shì ， tā bǎ suǒ yǒu de hú lí jiào lái ， zhào kāi yī gè cháng wù huì yì ，

于是，它把所有的狐狸叫来，召开一个常务会议，

shāng tǎo tā tí chū de jiàn yì . dāng dà jiā dào qí shí ,tā jiù jiàn yì suǒ yǒu de hú lí dōu yīng gāi bǎ wěi bā jiǎn diào 。

商讨它提出的建议。当大家到齐时，它就建议所有的狐狸都应该把尾巴剪掉。

tā zhǐ chū yǒu wěi bā de bù biàn zhī chù ， tè bié shì dāng bèi dí rén － － gǒu zhuī gǎn shí ，

它指出有尾巴的不便之处，特别是当被敌人－－狗追赶时，

hái yǒu hé péng yǒu men zuò xià liáo jiā cháng shí ， yǒu wěi bā shì nà me de ài shì 。

还有和朋友们坐下聊家常时，有尾巴是那么的碍事。

tā gēn běn jiù kàn bù dào wěi bā yǒu rèn hé de hǎo chù ，què fǎn ér jué dé nà shì gè wú yòng de lěi zhuì 。 

它根本就看不到尾巴有任何的好处，却反而觉得那是个无用的累赘。

yī zhī lǎo hú lí zhàn chū lái shuō ： “ nǐ jiǎng de dōu hěn yǒu lǐ ，

一只老狐狸站出来说：“你讲的都很有理，

rú guǒ nǐ méi yǒu shī qù wěi bā ， kǒng pà nǐ shì bù huì lái quàn dà jiā dōu gē qù tā ，wěi bā kě shì wǒ men de zhǔ yào zhuāng shì yɑ ！ ” 。 

如果你没有失去尾巴，恐怕你是不会来劝大家都割去它，尾巴可是我们的主要装饰呀！”。

gù shì shì shuō ： bù yào xiāng xìn dài yǒu sī yì de jiàn yì 。 

故事是说：不要相信带有私意的建议。

It happened that a Fox caught its tail in a trap,

yǒu yī zhī hú lí bèi bǔ liè de jī guān kǎ zhù le wěi bɑ ，

and in struggling to release himself lost all of it but the stump.  

zhēng zhā shí yī dà jié wěi bā duàn le ， zhǐ liú xià gè wěi bā gēn ér 。

At first he was ashamed to show himself among his fellow foxes.

qǐ xiān ， tā jué dé hěn diū rén ， jìn liàng bù ràng bié de hú lí kàn dào ，

But at last he determined to put a bolder face upon his misfortune,

dàn hòu lái tā jué dìng yào yǒng gǎn de miàn duì zì jǐ de bù xìng 。

and summoned all the foxes to a general meeting 

yú shì ， tā bǎ suǒ yǒu de hú lí jiào lái ， zhào kāi yī gè cháng wù huì yì ，

to consider a proposal which he had to place before them. When they had assembled together the Fox proposed that they should all do away with their tails.

shāng tǎo tā tí chū de jiàn yì . dāng dà jiā dào qí shí ,tā jiù jiàn yì suǒ yǒu de hú lí dōu yīng gāi bǎ wěi bā jiǎn diào 。

He pointed out how inconvenient a tail was when they were pursued by their enemies, the dogs;

tā zhǐ chū yǒu wěi bā de bù biàn zhī chù ， tè bié shì dāng bèi dí rén － － gǒu zhuī gǎn shí ，

how much it was in the way when they desired to sit down and hold a friendly  conversation with one another.

hái yǒu hé péng yǒu men zuò xià liáo jiā cháng shí ， yǒu wěi bā shì nà me de ài shì 。

tā gēn běn jiù kàn bù dào wěi bā yǒu rèn hé de hǎo chù ，què fǎn ér jué dé nà shì gè wú yòng de lěi zhuì 。 

"That is all very well," said one of the older foxes;

yī zhī lǎo hú lí zhàn chū lái shuō ： “ nǐ jiǎng de dōu hěn yǒu lǐ ，

"but I do not think you would have recommended us to dispense with our chief ornament if you had not happened to lose it yourself."

rú guǒ nǐ méi yǒu shī qù wěi bā ， kǒng pà nǐ shì bù huì lái quàn dà jiā dōu gē qù tā ，wěi bā kě shì wǒ men de zhǔ yào zhuāng shì yɑ ！ ” 。 

Distrust interested advice.

gù shì shì shuō ： bù yào xiāng xìn dài yǒu sī yì de jiàn yì 。
