55.乌鸦喝水, The Crow and the Pitcher (wū yā hē shuǐ)

yǒu yī zhī kǒu kě de wū yā ，

有一只口渴的乌鸦，

zhǎo dào le yī gè céng jīng shì zhuāng mǎn shuǐ de píng zǐ ，

找到了一个曾经是装满水的瓶子，

kě shì dāng tā bǎ huì shēn dào píng zǐ lǐ shí ，

可是当它把喙伸到瓶子里时，

cái fā xiàn lǐ miàn de shuǐ hěn shǎo le ， tā gòu bù dào shuǐ 。

才发现里面的水很少了，它够不到水。

tā shì le yòu shì ， zuì hòu ， zhī hǎo zài jué wàng zhōng fàng qì 。

它试了又试，最后，只好在绝望中放弃。

hū rán tā xiǎng dào yī gè zhǔ yì ， tā ná qǐ yī kuài luǎn shí tóu jìn píng zǐ lǐ 。 

忽然它想到一个主意，它拿起一块卵石投进瓶子里。

jiē zhe zài tóu yī kuài ， 

接着再投一块，

jiē zhe zài tóu yī kuài ， 

接着再投一块，

jiē zhe zài tóu yī kuài ， 

接着再投一块，

jiē zhe zài tóu yī kuài ，  

接着再投一块，

jiē zhe zài tóu yī kuài fàng jìn píng zǐ lǐ 。

接着再投一块放进瓶子里。

zuì hòu ， tā zhōng yú kàn dào shuǐ kuài yào dào píng kǒu le ，

最后，它终于看到水快要到瓶口了， 

yòu duō tóu le jǐ kē shí tóu zhī hòu ， tā jiù hē dào le shuǐ ，jiù huí zì jǐ yī mìng 。

又多投了几颗石头之后，它就喝到了水，救回自己一命。

gù shì shì shuō ： yī diǎn ér yī diǎn ér de zuò jiù kě yǐ chéng gōng 。 

故事是说：一点儿一点儿的做就可以成功。

The Crow and the Pitcher

yǒu yī zhī kǒu kě de wū yā ，

came upon a Pitcher which had once been full of water;

zhǎo dào le yī gè céng jīng shì zhuāng mǎn shuǐ de píng zǐ ，

but when the Crow put its beak into 

kě shì dāng tā bǎ huì shēn dào píng zǐ lǐ shí ，

the mouth of the Pitcher he found that only very little water was left in it, and that he could not reach far enough down to get at it.

cái fā xiàn lǐ miàn de shuǐ hěn shǎo le ， tā gòu bù dào shuǐ 。

He tried, and he tried, but at last had to give up in despair.

tā shì le yòu shì ， zuì hòu ， zhī hǎo zài jué wàng zhōng fàng qì 。

Then a thought came to him, and he took a pebble and dropped it into the Pitcher.

hū rán tā xiǎng dào yī gè zhǔ yì ， tā ná qǐ yī kuài luǎn shí tóu jìn píng zǐ lǐ 。 

Then he took another pebble and dropped it into the Pitcher.  

jiē zhe zài tóu yī kuài ， 

Then he took another pebble and dropped that into the Pitcher.  

jiē zhe zài tóu yī kuài ， 

Then he took another pebble and dropped that into the Pitcher.  

jiē zhe zài tóu yī kuài ， 

Then he took another pebble and dropped that into the Pitcher.  

jiē zhe zài tóu yī kuài ，  

Then he took another pebble and dropped that into the Pitcher.  

jiē zhe zài tóu yī kuài fàng jìn píng zǐ lǐ 。

At last, at last, he saw the water mount up near him,  

zuì hòu ， tā zhōng yú kàn dào shuǐ kuài yào dào píng kǒu le ，

and after casting in a few more pebbles he was able to quench his thirst 

yòu duō tóu le jǐ kē shí tóu zhī hòu ， tā jiù hē dào le shuǐ ，jiù huí zì jǐ yī mìng 。

Little by little does the trick.

gù shì shì shuō ： yī diǎn ér yī diǎn ér de zuò jiù kě yǐ chéng gōng 。
