4.狮子的分配, The Lion's Share (shī zǐ de fēn pèi)

yǒu yī cì shī zǐ 、 hú lí 、 hú láng hé láng yī qǐ qù dǎ liè 。

有一次狮子、狐狸、狐狼和狼一起去打猎。

tā men bù tíng de zhuī zhú liè wù ， zhí dào zuì hòu zhōng yú dǎi dào yī zhī shòu jīng xià de lù 。

它们不停的追逐猎物，直到最后终于逮到一只受惊吓的鹿。

tā men hěn kuài de jiù bǎ tā yǎo sǐ le 。

它们很快的就把它咬死了。

dàn suí zhī ér lái de wèn tí shì liè wù zěn me fēn pèi ne ？

但随之而来的问题是猎物怎么分配呢？

shī zǐ hǒu jiào zhe shuō ： “ zhè zhī lù de sì fēn zhī yī shì wǒ de 。”

狮子吼叫着说：“这只鹿的四分之一是我的。”

yú shì ， qí tā dòng wù bō diào lù pí ， bǎ lù fēn chéng sì fèn ér 。

于是，其它动物剥掉鹿皮，把鹿分成四份儿。

rán hòu ， shī zǐ zhàn zài lù de shī tǐ páng biān xuān bù ：

然后，狮子站在鹿的尸体旁边宣布：

“ dì yī fèn ér shì wǒ de ， yīn wéi wǒ shì wàn shòu zhī wáng ； dì èr fèn ér yě shì wǒ de ，

“第一份儿是我的，因为我是万兽之王；第二份儿也是我的，

yīn wéi wǒ shì cái pàn yuán ； wǒ cān jiā le dǎ liè ，suǒ yǐ ， dì sān fèn yě guī wǒ 。

因为我是裁判员；我参加了打猎，所以，第三份也归我。

zhì yú dì sì fèn ér mɑ？ duì yú zhè gè， hē  hē ⋯ ⋯ ！

至于第四份儿吗？对于这个，呵呵⋯⋯！

wǒ dào yào kàn kàn ， nǐ men nà gè gǎn yòng zhuǎ zǐ pèng tā ”。

我倒要看看，你们那个敢用爪子碰它” 。

hēng ⋯ ⋯   hú lí yáo zhe wěi bā wú nài de zǒu kāi le 。

哼⋯⋯ 狐狸摇着尾巴无奈的走开了。

dàn tā fèn nù de xiǎo shēng shuō：“ wǒ fù chū láo dòng ，què dé bù dào xiāng yìng de bào chóu ”。

但它愤怒地小声说：“我付出劳动，却得不到相应的报酬” 。

gù shì shì shuō ： yǔ qiáng zhě zhǐyǒu gong kǔ de fèn ér ， què méi yǒu tóng gān de quán lì 。 

故事是说：与强者只有共苦的份儿，却没有同甘的权利。

The Lion went once a-hunting along with the Fox, the Jackal, and the Wolf.

yǒu yī cì shī zǐ 、 hú lí 、 hú láng hé láng yī qǐ qù dǎ liè 。

They hunted and they hunted till at last they surprised a Stag, 

tā men bù tíng de zhuī zhú liè wù ， zhí dào zuì hòu zhōng yú dǎi dào yī zhī shòu jīng xià de lù 。

and soon took its life.  

tā men hěn kuài de jiù bǎ tā yǎo sǐ le 。

Then came the question how the spoil should be divided.  

dàn suí zhī ér lái de wèn tí shì liè wù zěn me fēn pèi ne ？

"Quarter me this Stag,"Roared the Lion; 

shī zǐ hǒu jiào zhe shuō ： “ zhè zhī lù de sì fēn zhī yī shì wǒ de 。”

so the other animals skinned it and cut it into four parts.  

yú shì ， qí tā dòng wù bō diào lù pí ， bǎ lù fēn chéng sì fèn ér 。

Then the Lion took his stand in front of the carcass and pronounced judgment:  

rán hòu ， shī zǐ zhàn zài lù de shī tǐ páng biān xuān bù ：

The first quarter is for me in my capacity as King of Beasts; the second is mine as arbiter; 

“ dì yī fèn ér shì wǒ de ， yīn wéi wǒ shì wàn shòu zhī wáng ； dì èr fèn ér yě shì wǒ de ，

another share comes to me for my part in the chase;

yīn wéi wǒ shì cái pàn yuán ； wǒ cān jiā le dǎ liè ，suǒ yǐ ， dì sān fèn yě guī wǒ 。

and as for the fourth quarter, well, as for that, 

zhì yú dì sì fèn ér mɑ？ duì yú zhè gè， hē  hē ⋯ ⋯ ！

I should like to see which of you will dare to lay a paw upon it."

wǒ dào yào kàn kàn ， nǐ men nà gè gǎn yòng zhuǎ zǐ pèng tā ”。

"Humph," grumbled the Fox as he walked away with his tail between his legs;

hēng ⋯ ⋯   hú lí yáo zhe wěi bā wú nài de zǒu kāi le 。

but he spoke in a low growl ."You may share the labours of the great, but you will not share the spoil."

dàn tā fèn nù de xiǎo shēng shuō：“ wǒ fù chū láo dòng ，què dé bù dào xiāng yìng de bào chóu ”。

"You may share the labours of the great,but you will not share the spoil."

gù shì shì shuō ： yǔ qiáng zhě zhǐyǒu gong kǔ de fèn ér ， què méi yǒu tóng gān de quán lì 。
